A workshop exploring painting and floral arranging!
Attendants will meet in the Corn Crib at Rocklands Farm and begin with a walking tour of the gardens, meadows, and woods, identifying and harvesting spring ephemerals and tree blossoms along the way. We will combine our foraged materials with local spring treasures such as tulips, ranunculus, anemone, daffodils and poppies in a multi-bud vase composition. Our arrangements will focus on line, color, texture, and depth.
After a short break, Thu Anh will instruct attendants on watercolor techniques for painting botanicals “en plein air” and you will spend the evening practicing your new skills with your floral arrangement as your subject matter.
***All supplies will be provided, along with wine and snacks, and everything is yours to keep.***
This workshop is intended for adults with all skill levels. Please wear garden-appropriate footwear and dress for the weather! The Corn Crib is fully covered but open on both sides. This workshop will be limited to 20 attendants. Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable.
As part of our ongoing social justice work, and in recognition of art and nature as vehicles for connection, healing, and expression, we are offering two (2) scholarships for this workshop as a means to increase accessibility. Please get in touch via e-mail to nominate yourself or a friend.
